Ho hum. Another road victory for James Madison (their third straight). This time it was against a Liberty team that came in 5-0. The road trip isn't over either for the Dukes, who will try to bag even bigger game Sunday in Charlottesville.
James Madison 60, Liberty 50: It wasn't exactly fireworks when two of the state's unbeatens met on the hardwood. Neither team shot better than 34 percent. Sophomore guard Kiara Francisco scored all seven of her points when the Dukes embarked on a 14-3 run after the first media timeout. The Flames battled back to four at 50-46 but were hamstrung by poor shooting throughout. The Flames converted just 1 of 11 from three, and freshman Devon Brown, who came in averaging 21.2, connected on just 1 of 16 field-goal attempts. The Dukes had shooting woes of her own, most noticeably going 19 of 32 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile JMU freshman Tarik Hislop scored 15, while Dukes go-to Dawn Evans was held to 14 on 5-of-16 shooting.
