One game on tap on Tuesday, and the Lancers got the victory.
Longwood 77, UNC Asheville 73
You remember the Bulldogs (10-12), the team that just upset Radford? The Lancers are 6-16 and two of their victories are over UNC Asheville. Lindsey Montgomery had a beast night for the Bulldogs (24 points, 11 boards, 4 steals, off the bench, at that), but the well-balanced Longwood offense was more efficient. Five players scored in double figures, including Brittani Billups (15 points, 14 rebounds) and Crystal Smith (off the bench for 14 points and 9 assists). The sophomore guard scored five of those points in the final 2:28. With Longwood trailing 71-70, Smith drained a jumper and nailed three of her final four free throws to seal the win. We can't think of a better ending for Longwood's Pink Zone game.
