Sunday pickings

Having gone a perfect 6 for 6 in our first stab at picking games, we're all ego about today's selections. Take our picks to Vegas and bet the house (or at least all the marbles).

Radford at William and Mary, 2 p.m.
It's a homecoming of sorts for Hampton's Kymesha Alston (Heritage High), who's part of a brand new team at Radford thanks to five freshmen and two transfers. But chemistry takes time to develop and a more veteran William and Mary team should take the Highlanders to school behind wiry post Tiffany Benson and upstart guard Tayha Pye. William and Mary 66-48.

Manhattan at Virginia, 2 p.m.
Debbie Ryan has won 700 games at Virginia; John Olenowski has won one at Manhattan. The Cavaliers didn't exactly look like a team destined for the Final Four in defeating UMBC 68-57 on Friday. Manhattan, meanwhile, demolished St. Francis (NY) 71-34 in its opener. We still like Virginia. Virginia 80, Manhattan 54

No. 7 Baylor at No. 8 Tennessee, 5 p.m., ESPN2
We can't wait to see Brittney Griner. Time will tell whether Baylor's 6-8 center with the 7 1/2-foot wingspan will really change the game the way folks predict. You gotta figure Pat Summitt wasn't exactly easy on the Lady Vols, who have had months to fret about their disappointing loss in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Tennessee probably wins here, but if you're Griner, you've got to dunk in Thompson-Boling, right?Tennessee 81, Baylor 70.
