So, whadaya think?

You keep hearing a lot from us. Now, with the first half-month of the season in the books, we want to know what you make of your favorite team so far and going forward, the good, the bad and the ugly. Even shots at us are fair game. So fire away.

  1. Liberty lost 7 seniors including Player of the Year Megan Frazee. Getting off to a 5-0 start has helped. The biggest surprise has to be Id say LaKendra Washington. She exploded in the last game out against Lafayette registering a career high 21 points, and reigning Big South Player of the Week Devon Brown had another solid outing with 17 points. Avery Warley and Kylee Beecher have shown to be a good 1-2 combination in the post as well. Itll be important to see players coming off the bench like Dymond Morgan and Carra Coy step up as teams start to game plan for Brown.

  4. Nice blog. Will mention it on rebkell & espn's message boards.

Just read that JMU beat Liberty 60-50. Evans and Brown did not live up to the hype -- each scored 14 and 9 points respectively.

  5. Thanks for your kind words. As for JMU/Liberty, maybe it was great defense or maybe we gave Devon Brown the Sports Illustrated curse by writing about her. We hope to hear from you often.

  6. JMU's freshman Tarik Hislop is the real deal -- 15 pts in the second half vs. Liberty and she had the defensive assignment all night on Brown.

Despite the loss, Liberty is worth the hype. Flames are big, physical and athletic. They should win a LOT of games.

  7. I didn't realize Hislop checked Brown. I suspect part of it was Brown needing to learn how to still get off against defenses designed to shut you down. But I'll give Hislop a ton of credit, too, and if she's that kind of defender, JMU's backcourt is even better than I thought. And I already thought it was really good.
