Our sincere condolences go out to the women's basketball family at Oklahoma State University. We are stunned and saddened to learn that coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna died in a single-engine plane crash on Thursday night about 45 miles west of Little Rock. Two others not affiliated with the university also died in the crash, including the pilot. The coaches were on a recruiting trip.
Budke is survived by his wife, Shelley, and three children, Alex, Brett and Sara. Serna, who played for Budke at Trinity Valley Community College, is survived by her her parents, John Serna and Nettie Herrera and her sister, Cassandra.
