Elizabeth Williams has arrived

Everyone expected Duke's Elizabeth Williams to be an impact freshman, but we figured it would take a little time before the former Princess Anne High School star would actually start taking over games for the 8th-ranked Blue Devils.

It took two games.

In a Friday matinee against Auburn, Williams went off for 18 points (on 8-of-12 shooting), 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and left the Cameron Indoor Stadium floor to a standing ovation as Duke dispatched Auburn 73-50.

"I played with Liz before with Boo (Williams' AAU team) so I know what Liz can do," Duke teammate Chloe Wells said. "She finally came out relaxed...she had all the boards, putbacks, free throws...everything we needed from her, she was there. Blocks and everything. Game-changer."

Said Auburn coach Nell Fortner: "Elizabeth Williams is something else. She is a great rebounder and just a force. She pretty much had her way with us."

Deal with it, ACC.
