And we thought Virginia Tech's double-overtime win over William and Mary was exciting....
Hampton 78, IPFW 77 (2OT): Three of this game's 14 lead changes came in the final 21 seconds. Hampton (6-4) went up 76-75 on Jericka Jenkins' steal and fastbreak layup with 21 seconds left. IPFW made it 77-76 on a Stephanie Rosado jumper with 12 seconds to go. And finally, Quanneisha Perry's put-back of Melanie Warner's missed layup at the buzzer secured the Lady Pirates fifth straight victory. Jenkins finished with 30 points and is averaging 19.8 ppg in the five games she's played start-to-finish. Perry added 20 points on 10-of-12 shooting and now has 960 points in her career. Barring injury, she will soon become the 21st Lady Pirate to reach 1,000. Melanie Warner chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. Hampton's five starters - Perry, Jenkins, Warner, Choicetta McMillian and Laura Lewis - logged 235 of the 250 minutes, with Perry playing all 50.
