Sophomore Abby Redick will transfer from Virginia Tech, the school announced Thursday. Redick appeared in a team-low 6.6 minutes per game this season.
"Abby has been a solid member of our program the last two years," Virginia Tech coach Beth Dunkenberger said. "She is an excellent student-athlete and I wish her all the best as she pursues other opportunities."
The news is especially disappointing for us here at Ladyswish, as Abby was one of the first players to give us the time of day when we started this site a year ago, and we've enjoyed her fun-loving attitude from afar ever since. So hey, Abby, sorry it didn't work out at Tech, but we wish you the best wherever you plant your Nikes next.
And if you decide to transfer to another Virginia school, we wouldn't mind one bit.
