Old Dominion's Tia Lewis has been so consistently outstanding this season that a two-game stretch in which she averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds didn't really jump out at us.
The Colonial Athletic Association certainly noticed, though, and those performances earned Lewis conference Co-Player of the Week honors. The 6-3 senior from Poulan, Ga. had 17 points and 10 rebounds in ODU's 57-55 loss to James Madison, then racked up her ninth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 boards in Sunday's stunning 81-79 win at Hofstra. Lewis is now averaging 18.1 points and 9.1 rebounds this season.
It is the second Player of the Week nod this season for Lewis, who also copped the award on Dec. 19 after dropping 24 points and 13 rebounds on North Carolina A&T.
Lewis shared this week's award with - who else? - Delaware's Elena Delle Donne, who was recognized for the seventh time this season after she averaged 25.5 points and 13 rebounds in two more Blue Hens victories.
Georgia State freshman Miranda Smith, a former star at Patrick Henry High in Roanoke, was named CAA Rookie of the Week after helping the Panthers earn their first conference victory of the season Sunday against Northeastern.
