600 things about Wendy Larry's 600th

600!!!!!

Another victory and Wendy Larry will be part of the 600 club in women's basketball (her Old Dominion team meets Virginia Commonwealth on Thursday in Norfolk). It's not just an ordinary number, and by the way, we don't have 600 things to say. We just liked the headline.

Consider:

That big TV in the new Dallas football stadium? It weighs 600 tons.
The number of soldiers involved in the Charge of the Light Brigade? You guessed it. 600.

DC, nope not the city. That's the number 600 Roman numerial.

The Coca-Cola 600 is the longest of any of the NASCAR circuits.
After 46 homerless at-bats, Alex Rodriguez hit his 600th dinger on Aug. 4, 2010.

Take away 70 calories, and the Whopper has 600.

You don't want 600 as a credit score, but 600 would make a fine SAT score.

Virginia coach Debbie Ryan recorded win No. 600 on Dec. 29, 2004 versus James Madison.

The 600-plus list in women's basketball (Division I active coaches)
1. Pat Summitt, Tennessee
2. C. Vivian Stringer, Rutgers
3. Sylvia Hatchell, North Carolina
4. Tara VanDerVeer, Stanford
5. Andy Landers, Georgia
6. Robin Selvig, Montana
7. Geno Auriemma, UConn
8. Debbie Ryan, Virginia
9. Jim Foster, Ohio State
10. Cindy Russo, FIU
11. Muffet McGraw, Notre Dame
*note Seattle's Joan Bonvicini also exceeded 600 wins at Long Beach State and Arizona. Because Seattle is reclassifying from Division II to Division I, Bonvicini is not listed among current Division I coaches.
