Virginia falls in OT to Maryland

Friday's game:

Maryland 77, Virginia 75 OT:

What a heartbreaker for the Cavaliers. Diandra Tchatchouang, who forced OT by hitting the Terrapins' only 3 of the game, made a driving layup with 6.1 seconds to play in OT for the gamewinner. Ariana Moorer had a good look and a great shot at a 3 to win it, but it did everything but fall, causing the senior to collapse on the floor of John Paul Jones Arena. Virginia (11-9, 0-4 ACC) led 68-62 with two minutes to play in regulation but managed only one more point in the period. Chelsea Shine led four players in double figures; Alyssa Thomas led Maryland with 18.
