Head coaching opening at Georgia State
Georgia State is looking for a new coach after Lea Henry resigned earlier this week after 16 seasons. A former Tennessee starting point guard and gold medal-winning Olympian (1984), Henry led the Panthers to four 20-win seasons and three NCAA Tournament berths when the team played in the Atlantic Sun. But in five years in the CAA, the Panthers never won more conference games than they lost (25-65 overall), and last season's 15-15 record tied for their best overall record since joining the Colonial. Judging from some of her farewell remarks - "the time is right for me to pursue a new challenge" and "I am looking forward to my next opportunity in the game that I love" it's clear Henry isn't done coaching. She's simply done coaching at Georgia State.
