The love affair with the UConn 71-game winning streak and ESPN continues. Like a radio announcer is reminded to give the score every 30 seconds, the ESPN crew must be told to bring up the streak at regular intervals.
No knock on the Huskies, obviously, but isn't ESPN forgetting something? Prior to Tuesday's Big East final, ESPN saluted a bunch of programs from every sport highlighting their winning streaks.
No mention of Old Dominion, though. Nobody thought to bring up the Lady Monarchs' streak of 17 consecutive CAA titles, a national record. They didn't bring it up, so we will.
