The final ESPN/WBCA coaches poll released Monday is missing a name. Should James Madison be ranked? Might be a stretch. Should the two-time CAA Tournament champions have received votes? Absolutely.
Syracuse received votes. So did Iowa State, Gardner-Webb and Middle Tennessee. All have significantly lower RPIs than James Madison (26-7), whose final RPI was 25.
We would have liked to have seen the Dukes get some respect. But what's more important: where they are seeded in the NCAA Tournament. The bracket of 64 will be unveiled at 7 p.m. Monday.
Let's hope the committee shows some love for James Madison and MEAC champ Hampton.
